A red wine spill on the carpet? Don\u2019t worry \u2014 there is a way to get it out, especially if you act fast. Here\u2019s what you\u2019ll need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A few clean white towels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vacuum cleaner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spoon (metal or plastic)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cold water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Liquid dishwashing soap<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hydrogen peroxide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ok, now that you have your materials, let\u2019s get to removing the\nstain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Blot<br>the spill with a clean white towel as soon as you can. When you blot the spill,<br>you minimize the amount of acids and dyes from the wine that will work their<br>way into the carpet fibers.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generously<br>sprinkle baking soda onto the spill. <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mix<br>the baking soda around the stained area with the back of the spoon. As the<br>baking soda absorbs the wine, it will turn red and clump. <br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vacuum<br>the clumped baking soda. Repeat the baking soda steps 2-4 until the baking soda<br>no longer absorbs the wine.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spray<br>the area with a solution of 0.5-1.0 tsp of liquid dishwashing soap and 2 cups<br>of cold water.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Let<br>it sit for 1-2 minutes, agitating the area with the back of the spoon.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Blot<br>with a clean white towel. The towel will show how much wine is being absorbed.<br>Repeat steps 5-7 until the towel is no longer absorbing any wine.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flush<br>and rinse the area with clean cold water and blot with a clean towel. Dry the<br>area as much as possible.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spray<br>with hydrogen peroxide and let it dry.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>These steps should help you remove your red wine stain!
